Chapter 63 Fool
"Looks like you failed in creating your second Soulring…lucky me!" Zayn mocked loudly without batting an eyelid and staring deep into the dark eyes of the Blessed who was standing more than a hundred meters away from him. The corners of his lips were uptilted and he made small motions to prepare his body to jump into action at any moment.
Hundreds of Goblin Skeletons and other ordinary Undead surrounded Zayn and his Spirits, leaving little space for him to move freely but that was fine with him. There was no need to worry!
"You really are perceptive…or are your eyes just special? I don\'t think you should be able to sense my raging soul particles…whatever…you don\'t have to know why I failed to create my second Soulring!" Jarick shouted out loudly, but Zayn merely shrugged his shoulders in response.
"I never asked."
To Zayn, it was just important that his opponent was injured and that Jarick had failed in creating his second Soulring. Everything else was useless information he could discard, either way.
Thus, now that he had finally received the reaffirmation to his guesses, Zayn didn\'t hesitate to charge straight into the large hordes of Undeads to his left.
His shortsword and saber were mantled in the lowest form of the Soulblade, enhancing the edge and tip of the blades rather than the whole weapon.
His movements were rapid and nimble, ending the suffering of more than ten Goblin Skeletons by destroying their Cores in the blink of an eye.
Having been ordered to stand still, the Undeads surrounding him and his Spirits were easy targets. This was even more obvious as the Mocalw Bear, and both Human Spirits dashed to the sides as well, destroying as many Skeletons in the most efficient way by trampling and knocking them off.
The Mocalw Bear Spirit simply charged through the masses of the Goblin Skeletons, bulldozing everything in his path. Meanwhile, the Agile Human Spirit moved nimbly through the lines of Skeletons while issuing dozens of high-velocity punches to severely damage the Skeletons.
As for the Herculean Human Spirit, it slashed the long Dao Saber with tremendous force and enough power to cut through the bones of multiple Goblin Skeletons at the same time.
On the other hand, Jarick Cerk looked at the scene for a few seconds without doing anything. He was taken aback by Zayn\'s resilience because he hadn\'t expected Zayn to actually be the one who attacked the army of the undead.
Jarick wanted to kill Zayn using the small army of ordinary undead but first, he wanted to toy with his prey. He wanted to inflict fear and desperation inside the heart of the young Normie before killing him slowly and painfully. Sadly, it was quite obvious that his plan had failed miserably.
"This bastard…" Jarick cursed through his gritted teeth as he stared coldly at the nimbly moving figure of the young Normie as he issued the command that was supposed to be more than enough to obliterate Zayn, "Kill him…rip off his flesh, tear him apart and feed on his organs!!!"
The Blessed\'s command thundered through the surroundings and the Undead heeded the words that rang through their Soulflames. The statue-like Skeletons began to move once again, their entire focus forcefully pulled over to Zayn, whose expression changed a little.
"Don\'t look at me like that and just come at me, you bastards!" Zayn bellowed as he thrust his Saber through the rib cage of a Goblin Skeleton. He heard the familiar crackling sound of a Core of the Undead being crushed due to the force of his attack but ignored it as he used his momentum to throw the Skeleton of the Goblin in the direction of the Blessed who was at fault for the whole mess.
Jarick Cerk waved his right arm to manifest a small shield of darkness in front of him. He predicted that Zayn had prepared an attack and that the Goblin Skeleton\'s bones would only be a means of distraction, a ruse to hide the real attack.
Thus, Jarick\'s focus diverted to the other three Spirits just to realize that none of them showed signs of being interested in attacking him, to begin with.
\'Was there something else hidden behind the Goblin Skeleton?\' He wondered at his moment, but nothing special happened when the bones of the Goblin Skeletons smashed against his shield. The force that impacted on his manifested darkness shield was nothing special either. It made him realize that it wouldn\'t have been necessary to erupt a shield of darkness to deflect such a weak attack in the first place.
\'Did I overestimate him?\' Jarick asked himself while trying hard to control the anger that was churning like the turbulent waves of an ocean, disrupting his calm composure. He wanted to tear Zayn apart, no matter what the aftereffects or risks. Zayn had snatched his beloved son from him and he had been close to shattering the plan he and the others had painstakingly worked on for the last few years.
It had taken him a lot of time and effort to garner the interest of his God, and that was not something Jarick wanted to waste by any means.
He waved his arm to the right and released more of the dark hue that was being exuded by his Stigma. The bad condition of his body continued to worsen but the Blessed didn\'t care about that anymore.
"I have already engraved the Stigma on my Soul and Bones…I can attain Immortality as long as I finish my mission…the only nuisance I have to take care of before I go back is…you…" Jarick Cerk thundered in a voice loud enough for Zayn to hear even though he was fighting against close to a dozen Goblin Skeletons at the same time.
In response to the words he heard, Zayn could only smile faintly.
"You won\'t be able to become a Lich, fucking braindead idiot," He said quietly for nobody to hear as he turned around his own axis while moving his two weapons rapidly. The Goblin Skeletons were pushed back, their stone weapons shattered and their rib cages severely damaged.
Zayn issued a few precise attacks to cut through the damaged areas of the Undead\'s rib cages to destroy their Cores of the Undead with a swift motion.
Afterward, he stepped through their Soul Wisps to absorb the ownerless soul particles with a sly grin on his face.
"Foolish idiot!"
