Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 348 - Malfunction

Because of the overwhelming advantages and tricks, the lesser demons had utilized, the entire battle barely lasted an hour.

The number of casualties was shockingly low on their side, and barely in the two digits due to one of the Ara army\'s commanders who had jumped on top of the city walls.

This was something unexpected and even Shane had to acknowledge it.

In the end, this was mainly owing to the unique characteristics of the city wall, preventing a skill from affecting it, alongwith the fact that long-range weapons were forbidden to be manufactured by the three kingdoms.

To put it simply, Shane had been able to perceive and exploit several loopholes which culminated into the final result of the battle, that is, their victory.

Despite having won, their tasks were far from over.

In order to solve the mission, they had many other things to do. Being fully prepared for another attack was one priority that included rebuilding the wall, increasing everyone\'s accuracy with the mana-sphere crossbow, and collecting all used magic bolts once again.

Other than that, Talia had told him that they had found a certain coating to protect the buildings from the acid rain.

Louis had also messaged him with a list of several fruits and vegetables that could be planted in low nutritious regions with acid rain!

With that, the lesser demons\' problem of a food shortage and the lethal dangers caused by the acid rain would vanish into thin air.

The Astral artisans were already mixing huge amounts of the coating for thousands of buildings, and the lesser demons would only have to coat it over their restored buildings.

As for the food shortage, Shane had told the city lord that he could provide some food until the fruits trees, and vegetables were ready to be harvested.

This cost him a small fortune, but Shane was sure that not only the entire Karn kingdom would be thankful for him, but also the King!

He had yet to be repaid, and despite acting as if he was a Samaritan, he had his own schemings.

In the end, this was only the third fluare tower dungeon floor, and not somewhere Shane would sincerely spend his own fortune to help over a million beings of a race he didn\'t even know well.

If not for the mission he wouldn\'t have intervened, because it could have caused huge problems to himself and those around him.

It might have been selfish of him, but Shane was of the opinion that everyone would rather protect themselves and the people around them instead of strangers.

A few days had already passed since the battle had ended and the coating to prevent houses from corroding had been mixed.

Other than that, the Astral artisans had already started to repair the city wall in Deux, while some of them had also restored the destroyed buildings around them.

After the war had ended, everything went smoothly, and Shane wondered if there would be any more problems or if the entire mission would end after a total of 30 days had passed.

The mission had already been more difficult than expected. Despite the huge advantages he and Princess Ilya had, Shane thought that the vast majority of participants from the rival side had most likely been eliminated already.

This was not unlikely and something Ilya was also expecting.

They had just been fortunate, which allowed them to finish the third mission without many problems.

The Ara race\'s bishop was still alive, but instead of worrying about him, Shane turned his attention to the fact that the strength of the three kingdom\'s powerhouses was exactly the same.

As such, there was no problem in showing the Ara bishop his place if he were to try something funny.

Instead of being worried, Shane was excited. He and Princess Ilya had been invited to the King\'s castle!

Apparently, the king wanted to meet, and thank them properly for their overwhelming help that had been unconditional and something every desperate kingdom could only have wished for!

Shane might have demanded the basic costs for the materials and everything he had used, but that was only a drop in the ocean in comparison to the value of the manpower and goods he had provided.

This was something everyone was aware of, and after Shane had provided seedlings for certain fruit trees and small, yet inconspicuous-looking seeds for vegetables. The lesser demons could plant the seeds in their small patches of nutritious land that was swept through by acid rain, his standing had been elevated to that of a true Saint.

Princess Ilya had helped a lot too, and both had become great personalities within the Karn Kingdom in a matter of days!

On the 15th day since their task on the third floor had started, they had been invited by the king, and it was only then that Shane had stopped cultivating.

When he had used every means to provide the Karn kingdom with more protective measures, Shane had started to cultivate once again.

He had received the mana purification technique with a mana purity of [80%] after all.

There were many scenarios at which a higher mana purity might be required, and Shane didn\'t want to be injured, let alone die in the next floors because he\'d missed cultivating!

Princess Ilya found this reasonable too, but she had reached the bottleneck of her cultivation technique.

Thus, she had to solve the next system mission first otherwise she wouldn\'t be able to continue cultivating.

However, what shocked Shane, and made him nervous was when he woke up from his high concentrated cultivation.

Since the dungeon had lifted the restrictions on his system messenger, he had received quite a few messages and notifications. Whether they were from the others or the human race being tagged in certain forum threads on PrimWeb, the situation between the Miac alliance and all those that had combined their forces seemed to have gone awry.

Other than that, it looked like the forest elves and other elves had declared war against the Dark Ice elves, Nightmare elves, and so on.

This was bad news and would cause huge aftermath for all elven races in addition to their partners in the alliance, including mankind.

Fortunately, not much seemed to have happened until now, and Shane was able to remain relatively calm.

He wouldn\'t be strong enough to help to begin with, but that didn\'t mean that it was impossible for him to hope for the best outcome.

His gut feeling told him that something bad was to happen, soon.

However, Shane was not able to determine an exact date, let alone when this \'soon\' would become \'now\'.

It could be weeks, months, years, or even decades.

In the end, the possibility of his gut feeling being wrong was also present but he doubted it.

Even the system seemed to send clues about upcoming dangers, and there was news about the system malfunctioning, which was something that had never happened.

With these thoughts, Shane couldn\'t help but frown. Nevertheless, he still had to increase his strength as soon as possible to his highest potential.

His current strength was already at par with the top one percent of the basic dimension, but was that really something to be proud of?

There were billions of beings who were equally stronger than he was while residing in the basic dimension.

As such, he would have to change that once again!

They had to travel in the direction of the King\'s castle for a total of three days, inside a small caravan as it was some sort of ritual of the Karn kingdom.

Both Shane and Ilya found this a little bit annoying, but neither of them said anything.

Shane was just cultivating, while Ilya hoped that the lesser demon merchants would equally distribute the provided goods amongst citizens of the Karn kingdom, which included coating their repaired houses in the acid rain protection mixture.

Meanwhile, Shane had told the Astral Artisans that they should instruct a batch of lesser demons to learn how to repair their houses. Even if it was only the most basic way, they should get the hang of it by themselves.

He could hardly send all of his Astral Artisans throughout the entire Karn kingdom.

Who knew what might happen if they were to be too late to return inside the Hidden Paradise once his mission was over.

Would they be expelled or detected as flaws by the dungeon?

Shane was not sure about that, but he was glad when he arrived in the King\'s audience hall on the 18th day after they had arrived on the third floor.

However, what he hadn\'t expected was to see that the King was nothing but an ordinary lesser demon!

\'Did we enter the wrong castle? What the hell was going on?\'
